Getting Started With AKMelytics | TradingView Setup Guide

Set Up AKMelytics on TradingView and Prepare Your First Chart

Welcome to AKMelytics – Market Intelligence.

This Getting Started guide will help you activate your indicator access, add AKMelytics to TradingView, prepare your chart, select an appropriate market benchmark and understand the essential settings before beginning your first analysis.

AKMelytics is designed as a market-intelligence and trade-confirmation system. It combines Adaptive Kernel Momentum, market flow, trend structure, volume behaviour, accumulation and distribution, relative strength and market structure into one analytical framework.

If this is your first time using AKMelytics, we recommend completing the steps below before changing any advanced settings.

1. What You Need Before Getting Started

To use AKMelytics you will need:

  • An active TradingView account
  • Access to AKMelytics – Market Intelligence
  • A supported financial instrument
  • Sufficient historical chart data
  • Reliable volume data for full functionality
  • A standard candlestick or bar chart

AKMelytics is a TradingView indicator and runs directly inside the TradingView charting platform.

You do not need to install software on your computer.

2. Requesting Access to AKMelytics

AKMelytics is distributed as a TradingView Invite-Only indicator.

This means the indicator source code remains protected while authorized users can add the indicator directly to their TradingView charts.

When registering for AKMelytics, make sure you provide your correct:

TradingView Username

Your TradingView username is required because access is granted directly to that account.

Important

Your TradingView username is not necessarily the same as your email address or display name.

Make sure the username submitted during registration matches the account you intend to use.

Once your account has been authorized, AKMelytics should become available under your Invite-Only Scripts section.

3. How to Find AKMelytics in TradingView

After access has been approved:

  1. Log in to TradingView.
  2. Open a chart.
  3. Click Indicators at the top of the chart.
  4. Select Invite-Only Scripts.
  5. Locate AKMelytics – Market Intelligence.
  6. Click the indicator name to add it to your chart.

AKMelytics should now appear directly over your price chart.

Cannot See AKMelytics?

Check the following:

  • You are logged into the correct TradingView account.
  • The username you submitted is correct.
  • Your AKMelytics access is currently active.
  • You are looking under Invite-Only Scripts rather than searching only public indicators.

If access was recently activated, refresh TradingView or reopen the chart.

4. Recommended Chart Type

For the most accurate interpretation, use AKMelytics with:

Standard Candlesticks

or

Standard Bar Charts

We recommend standard candlesticks for most users because they clearly display:

  • Open
  • High
  • Low
  • Close
  • Bullish and bearish candle direction
  • Candle body strength
  • Breakouts and breakdowns
  • Market structure

Avoid Synthetic Chart Types for Signal Interpretation

Do not use AKMelytics Buy/Bull, Sell/Bear, Target Lvl or Risk Lvl signals as executable market references when viewing synthetic chart types such as:

  • Heikin Ashi
  • Renko
  • Kagi
  • Point & Figure
  • Line Break
  • Range-based synthetic charts

These chart types may generate prices that differ from actual traded market prices.

For signal analysis, always return to a standard candlestick chart.

5. Choose Your Market and Timeframe

AKMelytics can be used across different chart timeframes.

Examples include:

  • 15-minute
  • 30-minute
  • 1-hour
  • 4-hour
  • Daily
  • Weekly

The most appropriate timeframe depends on your trading style.

Short-Term Trading

Traders looking for shorter-duration opportunities may use:

  • 15-minute
  • 30-minute
  • 1-hour

Lower timeframes normally contain more market noise and may generate more frequent changes in momentum and market-flow conditions.

Swing Trading

For swing trading, consider:

  • 4-hour
  • Daily

These timeframes can provide a clearer view of broader trend structure and are generally less sensitive to short-term market noise.

Position Trading

Longer-term traders may consider:

  • Daily
  • Weekly

These charts focus more heavily on the broader market cycle.

Recommended Starting Point

If you are new to AKMelytics, begin with the Daily chart.

The Daily timeframe provides a good balance between:

  • Trend clarity
  • Market structure
  • Momentum
  • Volume information
  • Signal frequency

Once you understand how AKMelytics behaves, compare the same instrument across other timeframes.

6. Volume Data Is Important

AKMelytics uses volume information as part of several analytical components.

Volume can contribute to the evaluation of:

  • Market participation
  • Relative volume
  • Accumulation
  • Distribution
  • Breakout confirmation
  • Momentum strength
  • Flow conditions
  • OBV-based analysis

For this reason, AKMelytics performs best on instruments with reliable volume data.

Markets With Good Volume Data

Volume analysis is particularly useful for:

  • Stocks
  • ETFs
  • Exchange-traded instruments
  • Markets where TradingView receives meaningful exchange volume

Markets With Limited or Different Volume Data

Some markets may provide:

  • Tick volume
  • Estimated volume
  • Incomplete volume
  • No meaningful centralized volume

In these situations, AKMelytics can still display price-based components, but some volume-dependent readings may become less reliable or less meaningful.

Always understand the type of volume data available for the instrument you are analysing.

7. Allow Sufficient Historical Data

AKMelytics uses historical information to calculate:

  • Trend conditions
  • Moving averages
  • Adaptive Kernel Momentum
  • Market-flow behaviour
  • Relative strength
  • Accumulation and distribution
  • Support and resistance references

For best results, use instruments with sufficient historical chart data.

Newly listed stocks or instruments with very limited history may not immediately provide enough information for every AKMelytics component.

If some dashboard fields initially show insufficient information, allow more historical bars to load before drawing conclusions.

8. Understanding the Default Chart Layout

When AKMelytics is added to your chart, several visual components may be displayed.

These can include:

Market Flow Ribbon

The ribbon provides a visual indication of the current broader market-flow condition.

Depending on the active regime, it may indicate:

  • Bullish conditions
  • Transitional conditions
  • Bearish conditions

The ribbon should be treated as a market-regime filter rather than a standalone entry signal.

Adaptive Kernel Momentum

AKM is the core momentum engine used by AKMelytics.

It evaluates:

  • Directional momentum
  • Trend efficiency
  • Volatility-adjusted movement
  • Momentum acceleration
  • Momentum weakening
  • Local trend quality

An optional AKM regression line may also be displayed on the price chart.

Trend Moving Averages

AKMelytics may display two primary moving-average references:

MA21

A faster trend reference.

MA144

A slower structural trend reference.

The relationship between price, MA21, MA144 and the AKM structure can provide additional confirmation of market direction.

Market Intelligence Dashboard

The dashboard provides a quick summary of selected AKMelytics conditions.

Depending on the current version, this can include information relating to:

  • Market regime
  • Momentum
  • Market flow
  • Accumulation
  • Distribution
  • Relative strength
  • Trend condition
  • Entry confirmation
  • Market risk

Do not make a trading decision from one dashboard field alone.

The purpose of the dashboard is to help determine whether multiple analytical conditions are supporting the same market view.

Bull and Bear Conditions

AKMelytics can highlight potential bullish and bearish market setups.

These conditions are produced when specific combinations of:

  • Momentum
  • Trend
  • Market flow
  • Price structure
  • Volume
  • Confirmation logic

are satisfied.

A signal represents a qualified analytical condition, not a guarantee of future market direction.

Target Lvl

The Target Lvl provides a potential objective or reference zone for the active setup.

It should be evaluated together with:

  • Existing resistance
  • Existing support
  • Market structure
  • Current volatility
  • Your own risk/reward criteria

Risk Lvl

The Risk Lvl provides a reference for where the original setup may become less favourable or invalid.

It is not intended to replace your own stop-loss strategy or position-sizing rules.

9. Recommended Initial Settings

When first using AKMelytics, we recommend keeping the default settings.

The internal calculations have been designed to work together as a complete analytical framework.

Changing multiple parameters immediately can make it difficult to understand how the default system behaves.

Start by learning the indicator with its original configuration.

Suggested Beginner Setup

Turn ON:

  • Market Flow Ribbon
  • AKM Regression Line, if you prefer a visual momentum reference
  • MA21
  • MA144
  • Market Intelligence Dashboard
  • Bull/Bear signals
  • Target Lvl
  • Risk Lvl
  • Market structure features

Keep confirmation filters at their recommended default values.

Only change advanced settings after you understand what each component controls.

10. Selecting the Correct Benchmark

AKMelytics may use benchmark comparison to measure relative strength.

The benchmark should represent the broader market or sector relevant to the instrument you are analysing.

Examples:

US Stocks

Possible benchmarks may include:

  • S&P 500
  • Nasdaq
  • Relevant sector ETF or index

Bursa Malaysia Stocks

A broad Malaysian market benchmark such as the FBM KLCI may be appropriate.

Sector Analysis

A sector index or ETF can provide more meaningful information when comparing a stock against its industry.

For example:

A technology stock may be compared against a technology-sector benchmark rather than only against the broad market.

Why Benchmark Selection Matters

Relative strength attempts to answer:

Is this instrument performing better or worse than its comparison market?

Using an unrelated benchmark may produce a relative-strength reading that has little practical meaning.

11. Your First AKMelytics Analysis

Once the indicator is installed, avoid looking immediately for a Bull or Bear signal.

Instead, follow this sequence.

Step 1 — Identify the Market Regime

Start with the Market Flow Ribbon.

Ask:

Is the market bullish, bearish or transitional?

Step 1 — Identify the Market Regime

Start with the Market Flow Ribbon.

Ask:

Is the market bullish, bearish or transitional?

Step 2 — Check AKM Momentum

Determine whether AKM momentum is:

  • Bullish and strengthening
  • Bullish but weakening
  • Bearish and strengthening
  • Bearish but weakening
  • Neutral or transitional

Momentum should support the broader market interpretation.

Step 3 — Check Trend Structure

Look at:

  • Current price
  • MA21
  • MA144
  • AKM regression structure
  • Recent highs and lows

Ask whether the chart is displaying a broadly bullish or bearish structure.

Step 4 — Review Accumulation or Distribution

Evaluate whether price and volume behaviour suggest:

Accumulation

or

Distribution

This provides additional context about market participation.

Step 5 — Review Market Structure

Look for:

Market structure should provide context for the AKM and market-flow readings.

Step 6 — Wait for Confirmation

Do not enter simply because one component turns bullish or bearish.

A stronger AKMelytics setup occurs when several independent conditions begin supporting the same market direction.

Step 7 — Review Target Lvl and Risk Lvl

Before considering a position, understand:

  • Where the potential target is located
  • Where the setup becomes weaker
  • Whether nearby support or resistance affects the trade
  • Whether the potential reward justifies the risk

12. Example Bullish Workflow

A bullish setup may develop approximately as follows:

Market Flow: Improving from transitional to bullish

                     ↓

AKM: Momentum moves positive and strengthens

                     ↓

Trend: Price maintains bullish positioning relative to key trend references

                     ↓

Accumulation: Volume and price behaviour improve

                     ↓

Structure: Higher low or bullish structure develops

                     ↓

Confirmation: Bullish conditions align

                     ↓

Bull Setup: AKMelytics identifies a qualified bullish condition

                     ↓

Trade Planning: Review Target Lvl and Risk Lvl

The signal should be considered the result of the process—not the beginning of the analysis.

13. Example Bearish Workflow

A bearish setup may develop approximately as follows:

Market Flow: Deteriorates toward bearish conditions

                     ↓

AKM: Momentum becomes negative and strengthens

                     ↓

Trend: Price moves below important trend references

                     ↓

Distribution: Selling participation increases

                     ↓

Structure: Lower high or bearish structure develops

                     ↓

Confirmation: Bearish conditions align

                     ↓

Bear Setup: AKMelytics identifies a qualified bearish condition

                     ↓

Trade Planning: Review Target Lvl and Risk Lvl

14. Avoid These Common Beginner Mistakes

Entering Because of One Signal

AKMelytics is designed around confirmation.

Do not ignore the broader market environment because an isolated signal appears.

Ignoring the Higher-Timeframe Trend

A bullish lower-timeframe setup occurring inside a strong higher-timeframe bearish structure may carry additional risk.

Always understand the larger trend.

Ignoring Volume

Volume is an important part of the AKMelytics market-intelligence framework.

A price breakout without meaningful participation may behave differently from one supported by increasing volume.

Changing Too Many Settings

Keep the defaults until you understand how the indicator behaves.

Treating Target Lvl as Guaranteed

A Target Lvl is a reference—not a prediction.

Price may:

  • Reverse before reaching it
  • Move through it
  • Consolidate
  • Gap
  • Change direction entirely

Treating Risk Lvl as a Complete Risk Strategy

Your total trading risk also depends on:

  • Position size
  • Portfolio exposure
  • Entry price
  • Liquidity
  • Volatility
  • Market events

15. Recommended Alert Behaviour

When using AKMelytics alerts, confirmed-candle alerts are generally easier to interpret than signals generated while a candle is still forming.

Where available, consider selecting:

Once Per Bar Close

This allows the current candle to complete before the alert is triggered.

A separate guide will explain:

  • Bull alerts
  • Bear alerts
  • Trend alerts
  • Multiple-symbol alerts
  • Bar-close confirmation
  • Alert troubleshooting

16. Quick Setup Checklist

Before analysing your first chart, confirm:

✓ AKMelytics access is active

✓ You are using the correct TradingView account

✓ AKMelytics has been added from Invite-Only Scripts

✓ Standard candlesticks are selected

✓ The symbol has sufficient historical data

✓ Reliable volume data is available

✓ An appropriate timeframe is selected

✓ An appropriate market benchmark is selected

✓ Default settings are retained initially

✓ Market Flow Ribbon is visible

✓ AKM direction is understood

✓ Target Lvl and Risk Lvl are visible where applicable

✓ You understand that signals require confirmation

17. Important Reminder

AKMelytics is designed to help organize market information.

It does not replace trader judgement.

A disciplined trader should still consider:

  • Market structure
  • Broader market direction
  • News and scheduled events
  • Liquidity
  • Position size
  • Maximum acceptable loss
  • Portfolio exposure
  • Personal trading rules

No indicator can eliminate market risk.
