Complete Guide to Configuring AKMelytics – Market Intelligence
AKMelytics – Market Intelligence includes several configurable settings so traders can control chart appearance, confirmation filters, market structure, continuation conditions, risk references and supporting analytical tools.
However, not every setting should be changed.
Some controls affect the actual qualification of Bullish or Bearish conditions.
Others only change:
- What is displayed
- Colours
- Line thickness
- Table visibility
- Chart presentation
For new users, the recommended approach is simple:
Begin with the default AKMelytics configuration and change only visual settings until you understand how each analytical component behaves.
The core AKM engine itself uses locked internal defaults for its regression, adaptive bandwidth, quality threshold and confirmation architecture rather than exposing those parameters in the normal Settings panel.

1. AKMelytics Alignment Engine
This section controls the main directional confirmation branches.
The current build provides:
Enable Bullish Alignment
and
Enable Bearish Alignment.
Enable Bullish Alignment
Default:
ON
This enables the main bullish alignment architecture.
When enabled, AKMelytics can evaluate bullish conditions involving:
- AKM
- Market Flow
- Trend conditions
- Early bullish conditions
- Bullish confluence
- Optional MA qualification
Turning this OFF disables the final bullish alignment branches.
Recommended
Leave ON unless you intentionally want to analyse only bearish conditions.
Enable Bearish Alignment
Default:
ON
This enables the bearish equivalent of the bullish alignment architecture.
It allows AKMelytics to evaluate:
- Negative AKM conditions
- Bearish trend
- Distribution
- Bearish confluence
- Negative Market Flow
- Optional MA filtering
Recommended
Leave ON for normal two-directional analysis.
2. MA Filter
The MA Filter uses two configurable moving averages as additional trend references.
The default periods are:
Fast MA: 21
Slow MA: 144.
Show MA1 / MA2
Default:
ON
Displays both moving averages directly on the chart.
The current engine uses exponential moving averages for these references.
This option is primarily visual.
Require Bullish Alignment Above MA1 / MA2
Default:
OFF
When enabled, a bullish final alignment requires:
- Fast MA above Slow MA
- Price above both moving averages
This makes the bullish confirmation system more selective.
Effect
OFF: AKMelytics can qualify bullish conditions without requiring this extra MA structure.
ON: Bullish setups must satisfy the additional trend requirement.
Require Bearish Alignment Below MA1 / MA2
Default:
OFF
When enabled, bearish conditions require:
- Fast MA below Slow MA
- Price below both moving averages
This is the bearish equivalent of the bullish filter.
Fast MA
Default:
21
The faster trend reference.
Reducing the value makes it respond more quickly.
Increasing it makes it smoother and slower.
Slow MA
Default:
144
Represents a broader structural trend reference.
Beginner Recommendation
Keep:
21 / 144
until you understand how changing MA lengths affects the signal environment.
3. Bullish Continuation
This group controls the AKMelytics continuation condition that can occur after an existing bullish setup.
The current defaults are:
Enable Bullish Continuation: ON
Continuation Window Bars: 20
Apply MA Filter To Continuation: ON.
Enable Bullish Continuation
Turns Bullish Continuation analysis ON or OFF.
The continuation condition is state-dependent.
A previous bullish event must already exist before the continuation engine becomes eligible.
Continuation Window Bars
Default:
20 bars
This controls how long after the previous valid bullish condition AKMelytics may continue looking for a Bullish Continuation setup.
Important:
This value represents chart bars, not calendar days.
On a Daily chart:
20 bars is approximately 20 trading sessions.
On a 4-hour chart:
20 bars represents 20 four-hour candles.
The continuation engine uses this window together with ribbon interaction and bullish recovery conditions.
Apply MA Filter To Continuation
Default:
ON
When enabled, the Bullish Continuation setup must also satisfy the bullish MA filter.
Recommended
Keep ON when you prefer continuation setups to remain aligned with the broader trend framework.
4. Tables
AKMelytics provides two main information panels.
Show Market Intelligence Dashboard
Default:
ON
Displays the main three-row Market Intelligence Dashboard.
It contains:
- Regime
- Alignment
- Technical condition
- Momentum
- Sector
- Flow
- Accumulation
- Value
- Growth
- Market Flow state
- Transition
- Fundamental context
- Entry conditions
The dashboard combines technical and fundamental information into one panel.
Show MTF Trend Table
Default:
ON
Displays genuine multi-timeframe trend information for:
- Weekly
- Daily
- 4H
- 1H
- Overall strength
The current implementation calculates each timeframe independently using completed higher-timeframe bars.
Recommended
Leave ON while learning AKMelytics.
5. Visual Settings
This section controls chart presentation.
Show Market Flow Ribbon
Default:
ON
Displays the Market Flow Ribbon.
This is one of the most important visual elements in AKMelytics.
Keep it ON unless you intentionally want a very minimal chart.
Show Bullish Continuation Marker
Default:
ON
Shows the Bullish Continuation triangle when the continuation condition qualifies.
Show Bearish Alignment Marker
Default:
ON
Shows bearish alignment confirmation markers.
Bearish Alignment Color
Allows you to customize the bearish marker colour.
This is visual only.
Color Candles
Default:
OFF
When enabled, AKMelytics can recolour the chart candles.
Candle Color Mode
Two modes are available:
Price Direction
Bullish candles reflect positive price direction.
Bearish candles reflect negative price direction.
Market Flow State
Candles reflect the Market Flow Ribbon regime:
- Bullish
- Transitional
- Bearish
The selected colour mode does not itself change the underlying AKMelytics calculation.
6. Adaptive Kernel Momentum
This section controls the visible AKM Regression Line.
The core AKM parameters remain locked internally.
Show AKM Regression Line
Default:
OFF
Displays the price-scale fitted output from the Adaptive Kernel Momentum regression model.
Turn this ON when you want to visually compare:
- Price
- AKM direction
- MA1
- MA2
- Market Flow Ribbon
AKM Line Smoothing
Default:
2
Controls additional smoothing of the visible regression line.
Important:
This setting affects the displayed AKM line.
It does not expose or replace the locked internal AKM momentum engine.
AKM Line Width
Default:
2
Controls visual thickness only.
AKM Bull Line Color
Default:
Aqua.
Used when AKM is in a positive qualifying state.
AKM Bear Line Color
Default:
Orange.
Used when AKM is negative.
AKM Weak Line Color
Default:
Gray.
Used when regression quality does not satisfy the internal AKM quality requirement.
7. AKMelytics Alignment Markers
This section controls the structural alignment arrows and the high-level Bull/Bear Transition labels.
Enable AKMelytics Alignment Markers
Default:
ON
Enables the primary price/MA/AKM/Market Flow alignment marker engine.
Show Bullish Arrow
Default:
ON
Displays the bullish alignment triangle.
The bullish structural condition evaluates the relationship between:
- Price
- Ribbon core
- AKM Regression Line
- Fast MA
- Slow MA
The full Bullish Arrow trigger also requires a bullish candle and confirmed bar.
Show Bearish Arrow
Default:
ON
Displays the bearish alignment triangle.
The bearish condition is based on the corresponding bearish price and trend structure.
Use Bullish Alignment for Projection
Default:
ON
Allows a bullish alignment event to establish a new:
Target Lvl
and
Risk Lvl
when projection logic is enabled.
Show Bull Transition
Default:
ON
Displays the higher-level:
Bull
transition label.
This is not an ordinary bullish arrow.
It represents a new Bull cycle transition.
Show Bear Transition
Default:
ON
Displays the higher-level:
Bear
transition label.
Bull and Bear Transition labels are one-bar transition events rather than continuously repeated trend labels.
Marker Colours
You can customize:
- Bullish Arrow
- Bearish Arrow
- Bull Transition
- Bear Transition
These settings are visual only.
8. Projection / Risk Reference
This group controls:
Target Lvl
and
Risk Lvl.
Show Target Lvl
Default:
ON
Displays the latest volatility-based projected Target Lvl.
Show Risk Lvl
Default:
ON
Displays the latest volatility-based Risk Lvl.
Use Bullish Events for Projection
Default:
ON
Allows qualifying bullish events to establish new Target/Risk references.
Use Bearish Events for Projection
Default:
ON
Allows qualifying bearish events to replace the current Target/Risk references with bearish levels.
Extension ATR Multiplier
Default:
2.0
Controls Target Lvl distance.
For a Bull event:
Target Lvl = Entry Reference + ATR × Multiplier
For a Bear event:
Target Lvl = Entry Reference − ATR × Multiplier
The current implementation uses the signal close as the reference price.
Risk ATR Multiplier
Default:
1.2
Controls Risk Lvl distance.
Bull:
Risk Lvl below signal price
Bear:
Risk Lvl above signal price
Projection Line Extend
Default:
10
Controls how many bars the Target and Risk lines extend visually to the right.
This does not affect the calculated price.
9. AKMelytics Market Structure
This section controls HH, HL, LH, LL, BOS and CHoCH analysis.
Swing Length
Default:
5
This is one of the most important structure settings.
Swing Length controls how sensitive the pivot engine is when identifying confirmed structural highs and lows.
Smaller Swing Length
Produces:
- More swing points
- More responsive structure
- More BOS/CHoCH events
- More market noise
Larger Swing Length
Produces:
- Fewer structural swings
- More significant pivots
- Slower structural confirmation
Recommended
Begin with:
5
Show HH / HL / LH / LL
Default:
OFF
Displays swing labels:
HH — Higher High
HL — Higher Low
LH — Lower High
LL — Lower Low
Turn this ON when learning market structure.
You may later turn it OFF for a cleaner chart.
Show BOS / CHoCH Structure Lines
Default:
ON
Displays horizontal structure-break lines and the associated:
BOS
or
CHoCH
text.
The engine evaluates breaks on confirmed candle closes.
Structure Line Width
Default:
2
Visual only.
Structure Break History
Default:
100
Maximum:
200
Controls how many historical BOS/CHoCH lines and labels remain visible.
A smaller value produces a cleaner chart.
A larger value provides more historical structure for study.
BOS / CHoCH Colours
AKMelytics allows separate colours for:
- Bullish BOS
- Bearish BOS
- Bullish CHoCH
- Bearish CHoCH
These are visual only.
How AKMelytics Classifies BOS and CHoCH
A structural break is classified according to the market bias before the break occurs.
A break above structure while the previous bias was bearish becomes:
Bullish CHoCH
A bullish structure break that is not opposing a bearish bias becomes:
Bullish BOS
The bearish logic mirrors this process.
10. AKMelytics Structure Fibonacci
Structure Fibonacci is one of the more advanced AKMelytics features.
It uses confirmed structural transitions to create projected reference levels.
Show Structure Fibonacci
Default:
ON
Enables the structural Fibonacci projection engine.
The current implementation activates the appropriate projection from confirmed CHoCH events.
Extend Lines Bars
Default:
20
Controls how far the Fibonacci projection lines extend to the right.
Show Fibonacci Labels
Default:
ON
Displays the Fibonacci ratio labels.
Show Prices
Default:
ON
Adds the calculated price beside each ratio.
Example:
-2 (105.35)
Line Width
Default:
2
Visual only.
Line Style
Available choices:
- Solid
- Dashed
- Dotted
Visual only.
Delete When Invalidated
Default:
ON
When the active structure projection is invalidated, the existing Fibonacci levels are removed.
The current engine has separate invalidation conditions for bullish and bearish projections.
Bearish Projection Levels
The bearish projection begins after a confirmed break below a Higher Low.
The model uses:
0 = HH
1 = HL
and projects positive levels downward.
Users can modify the individual projection levels.
Bullish Projection Levels
The bullish projection begins after a confirmed break above a Lower High.
The model uses:
0 = LH
1 = LL
and negative levels project upward.
Beginner Recommendation
Do not change the Structure Fibonacci levels until you fully understand the projection model.
Projection Colours
AKMelytics allows separate colours for:
- Bearish projections
- Bullish projections
- Anchor levels
You can also change:
Label Background Transparency
These settings are visual.
11. Gann Square of 9
The Gann section is optional.
It is separate from the AKM, Market Flow and signal architecture.
Show Gann Square of 9
Default:
OFF
Enables the Gann reference levels.
Red Line
Controls outer Gann support/resistance references.
Blue Line
Controls the midpoint reference.
Label
Displays or hides Gann text labels.
Extend Line Right
Extends Gann lines beyond the current chart area.
Line Back Bars / Line Forward Bars
Controls the horizontal range of the displayed reference levels.
Important
Gann references do not participate in AKMelytics Bull/Bear qualification.
They are supplemental mathematical support/resistance references.
12. AKMelytics Relative Strength
The Relative Strength section controls benchmark comparison.
The current default benchmark is:
MYX:FBMKLCI
and the default Minimum Early-Condition Score is:
60.
Benchmark Symbol
This determines what AKMelytics uses to compare the current instrument’s performance.
The model compares the stock’s return against the benchmark return over the internal relative-strength evaluation period.
Bursa Malaysia Example
Example:
MYX:FBMKLCI – BURSA MALAYSIA
US Stock Example
Consider a suitable broad-market or sector benchmark.
Example:
NASDAQ:IXIC – NASDAQ
DJFCD:DJI – DOW JONES
SPFCD:SPX – S&P 500
CBOEFTSE:RUT – RUSELL 2000
The benchmark should make sense for the instrument being analysed.
Minimum Early-Condition Score
Default:
60
Controls how selective the early-condition/watch engine is.
A higher score generally requires stronger technical agreement.
Higher Value
- More selective
- Fewer early conditions
Lower Value
- Less selective
- More frequent early conditions
- Potentially more noise
Beginner Recommendation
Leave at:
60
Which Settings Actually Change Signal Behaviour?
The most important distinction is between analytical settings and visual settings.
Settings That Can Change Signal Behaviour
These include:
- Enable Bullish Alignment
- Enable Bearish Alignment
- Bullish MA Filter
- Bearish MA Filter
- Fast MA
- Slow MA
- Bullish Continuation
- Continuation Window Bars
- Continuation MA Filter
- Alignment Markers
- Swing Length
- Relative Strength benchmark
- Minimum Early-Condition Score
Some Projection and Structure Fibonacci settings also change the associated reference output.
Settings That Primarily Change Appearance
These include:
- Show Market Flow Ribbon
- Marker visibility
- Candle colouring
- AKM Regression Line visibility
- AKM line width
- Colours
- Table visibility
- Structure line width
- Fibonacci line style
- Label colours
- Gann display options
Changing these should generally not alter the core AKM signal calculations.
Locked Internal AKM Settings
Users may notice that the Settings panel does not expose parameters such as:
- AKM lookback
- Base bandwidth
- Minimum bandwidth
- Maximum bandwidth
- Market-efficiency length
- Volatility length
- Output smoothing
- Signal length
- AKM quality threshold
- Internal momentum gain
This is intentional.
The current AKM engine uses a causal Gaussian local-linear kernel regression with internally controlled defaults.
Keeping these parameters controlled helps preserve consistency in the AKMelytics analytical framework.
Recommended Beginner Configuration
For new users, I recommend keeping the following configuration initially:
| Setting | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Bullish Alignment | ON |
| Bearish Alignment | ON |
| MA1 / MA2 | ON |
| Bullish MA Filter | OFF |
| Bearish MA Filter | OFF |
| Fast MA | 21 |
| Slow MA | 144 |
| Bullish Continuation | ON |
| Continuation Window | 20 |
| Continuation MA Filter | ON |
| Dashboard | ON |
| MTF Table | ON |
| Market Flow Ribbon | ON |
| AKM Regression Line | Optional |
| Alignment Markers | ON |
| Bull Transition | ON |
| Bear Transition | ON |
| Target Lvl | ON |
| Risk Lvl | ON |
| Target ATR | 2.0 |
| Risk ATR | 1.2 |
| Swing Length | 5 |
| BOS / CHoCH | ON |
| Structure Fibonacci | ON |
| Gann | OFF |
| Minimum Early Score | 60 |
This keeps AKMelytics close to its intended default behaviour.
Recommended Clean Chart Setup
If the chart becomes visually crowded, do not immediately change the analytical calculations.
Instead, simplify the display.
A clean setup might keep:
- Market Flow Ribbon
- MA1 / MA2
- Bull/Bear arrows
- Bull/Bear Transition
- BOS / CHoCH
- Target Lvl
- Risk Lvl
and temporarily hide:
- HH/HL/LH/LL labels
- AKM Regression Line
- Gann
- Structure Fibonacci labels
- Candle colouring
This gives you a cleaner chart without changing the signal engine.
Suggested Advanced Setup
More experienced users may display:
- AKM Regression Line
- Market Flow Ribbon
- HH / HL / LH / LL
- BOS / CHoCH
- Structure Fibonacci
- Multi-Timeframe Table
- Full Dashboard
- Target / Risk references
This provides a much deeper analytical view but can make the chart visually busy.
Do Not Change Multiple Settings at Once
If you want to experiment, change one setting at a time.
For example:
Change Swing Length.
Then observe how:
- Swing points
- BOS
- CHoCH
- Structure Fibonacci
behave.
Do not simultaneously change:
- Moving averages
- Structure length
- Relative-strength threshold
- Projection multipliers
because it will become difficult to understand which change caused the difference.
Avoid Over-Optimizing Historical Charts
A common mistake is repeatedly changing settings until historical signals appear perfect.
For example:
Adjusting:
- MA lengths
- Swing Length
- Early-condition score
- Target multiplier
- Risk multiplier
until previous trades look ideal.
This can create overfitting.
Settings that perfectly fit historical data may perform very differently in future market conditions.
Use settings that have a logical purpose rather than settings chosen simply because they make past charts look better.
Settings and TradingView Alerts
TradingView alerts should correspond to the AKMelytics configuration you intend to use.
If you materially change settings such as:
- MA filters
- Moving-average periods
- Alignment Engine
- Continuation settings
- Market structure sensitivity
- Benchmark
review your active alerts.
For important configuration changes, recreating the TradingView alert is a good practice.
Settings and Different Timeframes
The same settings can behave differently depending on timeframe.
For example:
Swing Length 5 on a 1-hour chart
identifies shorter-term structural swings.
Swing Length 5 on a Weekly chart
identifies much larger structural movements.
Likewise:
20 Continuation Window Bars
means very different periods on:
- 15-minute
- 4-hour
- Daily
- Weekly
Always interpret parameter values in the context of the active chart timeframe.
Settings and Volume Data
Several AKMelytics components depend on volume.
The Market Flow engine itself includes volume and volatility information as part of its weighted flow calculation.
Volume is also used by:
- Relative volume
- OBV
- Accumulation
- Distribution
- Early-condition scoring
- Flow scoring
Markets with unreliable volume information can therefore produce less meaningful participation analysis.
Settings and Financial Data
The Market Intelligence Dashboard can also use TradingView financial data such as:
- EPS
- Book value
- Free cash flow
- Net income
- Equity
- Debt
- Revenue growth
- EPS growth
- Sustainable growth
- FCF margin
- ROE
These metrics may not be available for every symbol.
A missing value does not necessarily indicate an AKMelytics problem.
Quick Troubleshooting
Too Many Structure Lines
Reduce:
Structure Break History
or increase:
Swing Length
Too Many Bull/Bear Conditions
Consider:
- Enabling MA Filter
- Increasing Minimum Early-Condition Score
- Using a higher timeframe
Too Few Signals
Check whether:
- MA Filter is enabled
- Alignment branches are enabled
- Benchmark is appropriate
- The instrument has adequate volume
- The market is simply not producing qualifying conditions
Do not automatically weaken filters just to create more signals.
Chart Is Too Busy
Hide visual components rather than changing the calculation.
Start by turning OFF:
- HH / HL / LH / LL
- Gann
- AKM Regression Line
- Candle colouring
- Structure Fibonacci labels
Relative Strength Looks Wrong
Check:
Benchmark Symbol
The selected benchmark may not be appropriate for the stock or market.
No Financial Data
The symbol may not support the relevant TradingView financial dataset.
AKMelytics Settings Workflow
When configuring AKMelytics, follow this order:
1. Select the market and timeframe
↓
2. Select the correct benchmark
↓
3. Keep AKM defaults
↓
4. Decide whether MA filtering is required
↓
5. Configure Market Structure sensitivity
↓
6. Keep Target/Risk defaults initially
↓
7. Adjust visual settings
↓
8. Create TradingView alerts
↓
9. Observe the configuration across several market conditions
This is much more reliable than changing many technical parameters immediately.
Key Takeaway
AKMelytics provides extensive customization, but more customization does not automatically produce better analysis.
The default configuration is designed to provide a balanced starting point.
The most important settings to understand are:
MA Filter
controls additional trend qualification.
Bullish Continuation
controls post-Bull continuation opportunities.
Swing Length
controls market-structure sensitivity.
Benchmark Symbol
controls relative-strength context.
Minimum Early-Condition Score
controls early-condition selectivity.
Target / Risk ATR Multipliers
control projection distance.
Most other controls primarily determine how much information is displayed on the chart.
Start with the defaults.
Understand the system.
Then adjust settings only when you have a specific analytical reason.

Educational Use & Risk Disclaimer
AKMelytics settings control technical-analysis features and visual references.
Changing indicator settings can materially change how signals, structure, continuation conditions, projections and risk references appear.
No parameter combination can guarantee profitable trading results.
AKMelytics outputs, including Bull Transition, Bear Transition, Bullish or Bearish Alignment, BOS, CHoCH, Structure Fibonacci, Target Lvl and Risk Lvl, are analytical references and do not constitute financial, investment or trading advice.
Users remain responsible for testing their chosen configuration, performing independent analysis, determining position size and managing their own risk.
